The Hustinx Foundation subsidizes both small and large projects in the arts and sciences. It initiates these projects itself or honors applications. It operates on the principle that the government is responsible for the infrastructure for arts and sciences. Therefore, the foundation's financial contributions are limited to supplementary support.
The Hustinx Foundation supports several projects each year with a donation of between €500 and €1,500.
Alle sectoren van de kunsten komen in aanmerking voor ondersteuning: beeldende kunst, muziek en toneel. Zowel vernieuwende en oorspronkelijke professionele kunst, als kunstuitingen waar massa en elite elkaar ontmoeten, waar traditie, gemeenschap en beleving het vakmanschap begeleiden.
Ter bevordering van de wetenschappen komen aanvragen voor financiële bijdragen in aanmerking die wetenschappelijk onderzoek ondersteunen en publicaties mogelijk maken. Vooral onderzoek dat zich richt op de praktische toepasbaarheid wil de stichting stimuleren.

Edmond Hustinx has had strong ties to Maastricht throughout his life. By establishing the foundation, he also explicitly wanted to promote the arts and sciences in Maastricht. To submit an application, a project must have a demonstrable substantive or geographical connection to Maastricht.
The Hustinx Foundation stimulates science and art by supporting young, innovative, and talented artists and scientists who have not yet received numerous awards. Therefore, the foundation primarily invites individual thinkers and creators with innovative ideas to submit applications.
Edmond Hustinx was a pioneer in sustainability, credited with no fewer than 1,116 ideas and patents, including many production methods that reused waste materials. We are happy to support initiatives that consciously promote nature conservation, reduce emissions, or upcycle materials.
