The Henriëtte Hustinx Awards were established to emphasise the importance of the programmes provided at the three arts domains of the Arts Faculty of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences for the South Limburg society.
Jaarlijks wordt aan iedere kunstfaculteit een Henriëtte Hustinx Prijs bestaande uit een geldbedrag van € 5.000 aan één persoon of één collectief toegekend. Aan de Toneelschool wordt de prijs uitgereikt aan een promising young actor with the aim of giving a positive boost to a starting professional practice.
Edmond Hustinx established the prize in honour of his sister Henriëtte, who excelled in various disciplines as an artist, violinist in the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts.
